"Photography is just the present state of man's visual history."
Irving Penn
"Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst."
Henri Cartier-Bresson
I have been a black and white photographer and student of black and white photography for most of my life. My favorite photographers are Eugene Atget, Cartier-Bresson, Brassai, Harry Callahan, Andre Kertesz, Elliot Erwitt, Berenice Abbott, Diane Arbus, Gary Winogrand, and Cindy Sherman. Generally, my goal as a photographer is simple--to share moments that capture my eye and imagination and that, from my perspective, warrant a longer look. My main interest at this point is in photographing architecture and urban life, particularly in Brooklyn where I have lived my entire adult life.
